Punta Gorda City Election - for Councilman District 3
GENERAL ELECTION INFORMATION
The next General Election for the City of Punta Gorda will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, and will include the City Council District 3 seat. City Council terms are two years and members are elected at-large. Elections are nonpartisan. Only opposed candidate races for City Council seats will appear on the ballot. Candidates are sworn in at the first City Council meeting following the General Election date.
Qualified candidates must reside within their District six months prior to the election and throughout the term, must be a qualified elector of the City and shall hold no other compensated public office other than notary public or member of the National Guard or armed forces reserve.
Once qualified as a candidate, all Federal, State and Local election laws must be followed.

PRECINCTS AND ASSIGNED POLLING LOCATIONS
Polling locations and precincts are established by the Charlotte County Supervisor of Elections and are subject to change. Recently, the Supervisor of Elections revised precincts which were split between the County and the City by adding a decimal to denote the portion of the precinct which resides within City limits. New voter information cards will be mailed to all those affected.
